"Dear compatriots!

8 may 45, the year after a six-year war it was a long-awaited peace in Europe. Last year Ukraine joined the European countries in the celebration of the Day of remembrance and reconciliation. This new tradition is in no way a substitute for, but complements and strengthens the usual public holiday - victory Day over Nazism in the Second world war.

In March, the 39th, the Ukrainians of Transcarpathia were the first on our earth have felt the deadly breath of a future tragedy. And in September of the same year, already on the other side of the Carpathians, more than a hundred thousand Ukrainians entered into an unequal fight with the Wehrmacht in the composition of the Polish army.

Ukraine are connected decisive and the most bitter battles on the Soviet-German front. Then our territory was held on 29 of the seventy-six operations of the Second world war.

Ukrainians fought in the red army, in Soviet partisan formations, in the ranks of the resistance of the European countries; in the canadian, American, Australian, British and other armies.

Last year we finally at the legislative level recognized and officially acknowledged the role of the Ukrainian insurgent army.

And tens of millions more worked in the rear. So the whole thing is let satellate who wants to downplay the role of Ukraine in the anti-Hitler coalition and liberation from the brown plague the whole of Europe.

Dear compatriots!

Now Eastern Europe is unprecedented since Hitler and Stalin a violation of international law. Predatory and voracious Empire again is not considered with state boundaries and seeks to expand so-called living space. Ukraine again repulses the enemy, except with the difference that now the enemy has come to us not from the West but from the East.

Heavy days and sleepless nights and now fell to the lot of Ukrainian women. This morning here, on the territory of this memorial complex was opened a photo exhibition "Mothers of heroes", dedicated to the mothers of Heroes of Ukraine. Over the last two years of 27 soldiers, among them Nadezhda Savchenko, have been awarded this title.

"You grow up, son, hit the road, grow up with you put to sleep the alarm..." These immortal words of Vasyl Symonenko as if remind us that behind every Hero is a heroic woman who was brought up by his worthy son, not only his family, but of the whole Ukraine.

Dear Ukrainians!

Almost a fifth of the state budget we spend on defense and security. And it is justified, for he who saves his army, he feeds someone else's.

How in two years we created a modern army has a legal right to be proud of every Ukrainian: warrior, volunteer, employee of the defensive enterprise, a chaplain and just the payer of military training.

The armed forces of Ukraine, liberated a large part of the Donbass, which securely hold the defense at the line of contact. We perform the Minsk agreement, but our soldiers get, when necessary, the order to open fire in response. In short, give resistance to the provocations of the enemy.

Really appreciate the willingness of our soldiers and officers to perform any task, their self-sacrifice, a desire to advance to the complete liberation of Ukrainian territory from Russian invaders. And as Supreme Commander should take into account all the factors: military, international, economic, and so forth. And so we focus on the politico-diplomatic way to return the temporarily occupied territories under the sovereignty of Ukraine.

Strengthening the defense capability, strengthen contract-professional component in the formation of the army. Two years ago the salary of a mobilized soldier-sniper, who participated in ATO, was 600 USD. Now minimal, outside the ATO, is seven thousand - it was significantly improved since the beginning of this year. During April-may demobilized almost all of those who called last year during the fourth stage of mobilization. But please note - new, seventh wave, and is still not announced.

We fired were replaced with professional contract soldiers. We try to minimize the impact of the war on the life of every Ukrainian. The only thing I can not yet promise that the mobilization of this year do not. Its prospects and the scope depend not only on our plans, but also from the situation at the front.

Meanwhile, domestic diplomacy is making every effort for the extension of sectoral economic sanctions against the Russian Federation, which were imposed as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine in the composition of the global Pro-Ukrainian coalition of EU, USA, Canada, Australia and many other countries. From time to time in some European countries there are voices about the alleged ineffectiveness of sanctions. What if someone they seem ineffective, it is necessary not to remove them or to mitigate, but rather to continue and increase!

Any steps for a political settlement must be preceded by tangible improvement in security. It is primarily about a real cease-fire, although in recent years we have seen a sharp reduction in attacks. The actual withdrawal of Russian military equipment, and not what we see on the so-called fake parade in Donetsk, which suggests that in fact nothing is displayed. Full access of the OSCE to all the occupied territories, including the line of collision and uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border. Only then can suggests that may holds local elections only in full compliance with the Ukrainian legislation, and only in full compliance with the criteria and standards of the OSCE.

I am convinced of the correctness of actions of Ukraine and no alternative to the Minsk agreements. Evidence is a peaceful sky over the vast majority of the territory of Ukraine, a powerful world solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions for failure to comply with the Minsk agreements. And the fact that the enemy is now locked on a distant Eastern borders is also the effectiveness of the Minsk agreements.

My goal is political and diplomatic means to return to Ukraine, the Donbass, and then the Crimea. And I want to stress - simple solutions, alas, no, but I have this difficult road is not going to come back.
