The events taking place in Syria last week, were replaced by messages from our lines, where the situation has entered the hot phase, and of course what happened in Paris. However, there was a very significant event that should not be overlooked.

Appeared evidence that the Russians have deployed their air defense system s-400 Hamim at the airbase in Latakia province. This means that the latest development delivered to cover bases or cities in Russia, as in Syria, where Russia is waging war against insurgent guerrilla units. We have serious doubts that the rebels have aircraft that could threaten the air base, especially with a height of 27 km for this air defense system. The capabilities of the radar, this complex, allow you to monitor and track targets located over Cyprus, southern Turkey and Northern Israel. That is, installing s-400, Russia has hinted all that covered the sky over Syria. Here the Russians are clearly trying to emulate the States and NATO, which, for example, closed the air over Libya. But the hint was ignored and the States, and yesterday and France, successfully attacked from the air the positions of the ISIL. Russian air defense system worked that Putin launched into a confusing discussion about the legitimacy of such attacks.

On the other hand, NATO did not touch neither the Russian nor the objects of their allies — asadowskij troops. Here it is possible to tell something that could knock down, but didn't want for "our touch". Putin's dissatisfaction was due to the fact that the attack on the Islamists does not suit him, for this group, although it is not officially recognized.

But last Wednesday, an event occurred that was just bound to result in the imposition of anti-aircraft fire, be it missiles s-400 or fighters from the same base. The fact that Syria has become a kind of hub, where Russia and Iran poured weapons, and from there it is distributed to all forces that support the Shiites. One of the largest transshipment bases of the arms, is located right near the international airport of Damascus. There from Lebanon, was attended by representatives of Hezbollah to receive weapons. After the transport was loaded and at 18:00 the convoy began to move, 10 combat aircraft, the Israeli air force, made a RAID on a convoy. Reportedly, the convoy was destroyed immediately, the first two or three planes, the other planes worked on warehouses of arms, which also successfully soared into the air. The whole event took several minutes, and Israeli planes without loss returned to base.

Given the fact that Israel regularly and successfully irons columns Hezbola as in Lebanon and in Syria, together with Syrian warehouses, one gets the impression that s-400 does not work very effectively or deploy it only served as a deterrent, but not a real combat unit. In short, Israeli air and allies, and freely perform their tasks in the sky of Syria, despite the aviation and air defense means of the Russian Federation. This situation will sooner or later raise the question of Asadova about the purpose of setting the Russians have these systems.

Anyway, from this situation we can draw two conclusions. Either the vaunted Russian technology is not able to resist the aircraft of the 4th generation, equipped with special apparatus for suppression of air defense or the Russians do not dare to raise the degree of opposition, for then their grouping will be swept away within an hour. Israel may do the trick even faster, because he has a very short chain of command and instant response. So Russian iron in Syria is already starting to look very silly.
