In February dispatched to the area of Debaltsevo.
On 16 February, the first day of the armistice. That day a convoy of our equipment came from Debaltsevo in Artemovsk. When leaving the city were ambushed. The APC, which was Vadim, was just at the column head. One of the shells, most likely the battery-propelled grenades, broke through the armor and flew inside the machine.
Your arm off immediately, almost on the shoulder. But the consciousness has not left. Armored car drove some more and stopped. The guys got out, Vadim, too, fell out on the way - to remain inside — it's death. Got to run to a roadside landing. Fell in the bushes.
20-degree frost has lain four days.
Later, the 18th, on this stretch of road were shot, our troops withdrawing from debaltseve.
In the evening of 19 February, on the fourth day, barely alive Vadim patrol discovered the "LNB". He surprised himself - the ego is not captured and was taken to the hospital. In intensive care Luhansk hospital all the beds were occupied with wounded militia. But no one was talking, nothing was found. Many were unconscious.
Lucky caught a very good nurse. She asked a room mother, called her and asked that I quickly took.
The talks were representatives of the Union of veterans of Afghanistan of the Luhansk region. The fighter passed through the representatives of the OSCE. First evacuated to Dnepropetrovsk, the 20th was already in Kiev. Despite all attempts to save the frostbitten feet of a soldier, of the Kiev doctors had to amputate. Thus, of the limbs he's only got one arm right.
The next day after Vadim left without feet, he asked my mother to bring him the book "the Story of a real man".
Until then...
Four years served under the contract. And then the war. In September (last year) the division was sent to the Donetsk airport. On it already there were fights, but the fighters as "cyborgs" is not yet called. There, in the old terminal, received his first wound. The bullet entered his left chest, just below the collarbone. In Dnepropetrovsk the wound stitched up, the inflammatory process was stopped, and six weeks later was back in the ranks.
And began...
Vadim with 18 years serving in the army. One day, while still a student of the Kiev construction College, has received a summons. And he asked that he was enrolled in the part located close to his house in Kirovograd. There were prepared special forces.
And now...
Kindest guy. One big positive of the walking (sorry for the expression). Love of life, plans for the future – God forbid everyone.
No matter what remains in the ranks - studying to be a psychologist to work with the soldiers, inspiring them by example.
October 13, 2015 Vadim Dovgoruk awarded the title Hero of the people. In the Odessa Opera theater the order to the soldier handed Michael Saakashvili.
