The fighter of a voluntary battalion "Aydar" with the Callsign "Black". In civilian life was Ruslan Caroticum, a teacher, a lecturer at the faculty of arts of the Kiev-Pechersk Academy 182nd Rusanovsky school. A native of the region, the family lives in Kiev.

It all began with Maidan. Participated from the beginning. Taught in the afternoon and in the evening, after work went to the Maidan, on Hrushevskoho. Was in the 7th hundred of self-defense.

When the trouble came, Ruslan did not sit at home watching television, hiding from conscription – he always wanted to quietly look into the eyes of the people and not to hide them from their children. Moreover, he had a military education, he is a sapper. And was the experience of participation in hostilities – Ruslan passed in his time through the crucible of Bosnia. Then I was sure that this was the last time in hands held a weapon. But it so happened that the war came to our home. Ruslan immediately signed up volunteers in the battalion "Aidar". After all, the duty of every man who lives in our state, which is a patriot - to fight and defend the country.

At the front since last summer. Together with "cyborgs" defended Donetsk airport, cleared the "road of life", went through the fighting in Lutugino, Gravelly, Luhansk airport, Novosvetlovka, Happiness, Trekhizbenke, Severodonetsk.

"...In war is very scary. War is the stench it was the smell of death and blood. War is disgusting, this is disgusting. This is cruelty, death. Almost every day. One, two, three, sometimes dozens of deaths. It hurts... it Hurts to look at the twin - people of different ages, bright, clean open faces. It is scary when you realize that it may take some time and someone has not seen, ever... no smile, No glance, not to hear jokes".

The war did not spare Ruslan, posmeyalas as I could... But after every injury, after every concussion he suffered, what can comesout, but he still managed to do for the country.

Now the fighter is undergoing rehabilitation after another injury. This time was the affected eye and are very concerned about this soldier, because in his unit, he performs the functions of a miner and his vision is, first and foremost, safe and of life for all of his sworn brothers. Fortunately, the doctors ' prognosis is comforting, and soon again to the front.

Most of all I want Ruslana to war was a bad dream. To Wake up and – there is no war, all alive, all happy, children laughing, I know nothing, nothing do not remember. And there is that stigma for centuries.

At home waiting for his wife and two children. And at the end of the war he dreams, finally, to defend the thesis.

23 June 2015. Ruslan Korotych awarded the title of "national Hero of Ukraine" and was awarded the first non - governmental award-the order "national Hero of Ukraine".
