On the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, which was held on November 21, Ukraine, USA and Canada voted against the draft resolution of the Russian Federation “the Fight against the glorification of Nazism.”

According to the Censor.NET with reference to UNIAN, the speaker of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyynis said at a briefing in Kyiv.

According to him, the document, as in previous years, was adopted: 115 delegations were in favor, 55 States abstained, Ukraine together with the United States and Canada voted against it.

As said Perebyynis, Ukraine's position was set forth in the statement aglaranna Ukrainian delegation before considering this project. In particular, there was strong condemnation of Ukraine Nazism and neo-Nazism, as well as all other forms of intolerance. At the same time, the delegation of Ukraine stressed that this issue should be considered in a balanced and objective manner.

"Therefore, we believe, is totally inappropriate and improper to resort to manipulation and distortion of history in favor of someone's aggressive political interests. Unfortunately, this approach year after year demonstrates Russia during the development of this resolution," he said Perebyynis.

He noted that Ukraine is strongly opposed to cynical attempts of the Russian Federation to present itself as a leader in the fight against Nazism and neo-Nazism, doing the same crimes against other Nations.

According to the representative of the foreign Ministry, Russia openly supports a variety of Russian neo-Nazi groups in their own country and abroad. In particular, we are talking about "Wolf hundred"fighting in the armed terrorist groups in the Donbass, and Russian Cossacks in the Crimea, who openly professed nationalist, xenophobic and chauvinistic policy.

"Given these reasons, the unbalanced nature of the draft resolution and the presence of distortion of facts, but also on the background of the occupation and annexation by the Russian Federation of the Crimea and the ongoing military aggression of Russia against our country, Ukraine has decided to vote against the initiative of Moscow", - he said.
