According to the head of the Ukrainian state, Ukraine is a need for urgent and effective support Alliance

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that Ukraine restores course towards Euro-Atlantic integration. This is stated in his address to the members of the NATO parliamentary Assembly, delivered today at the 60th session of the Assembly in the Hague adviser to the Ukrainian President Rostislav Pavlenko.

"Our country strongly restores the political course towards integration into the Euro-Atlantic security space. The course reflects the desire of the Ukrainian people," written in circulation.

Poroshenko stressed that Ukraine needs the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthening the defence capabilities, democratic institutions and the implementation of political and economic reforms.

"We need urgent and effective support from our partners in the Alliance. Only together can we overcome a serious threat to European security posed by illegal actions of Russia. Ukraine is currently at the forefront of the fight against terrorism in Europe," wrote Poroshenko.

He also expressed confidence that joint efforts of Ukraine and NATO in order to stop the aggressor and to force him to adhere to the agreements reached.

Recall, today Poroshenko said that the decision to join or not join NATO should take on all-Ukrainian referendum.

Also today, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine will be a member of NATO, if they fulfill the criteria and if you want to. "The doors are still open. We so decided. I was at the summit in Bucharest, when we decided that Ukraine will be a member of the (NATO). This decision remains in force, if Ukraine will fulfill the criteria for membership and if she wants," said Mr Stoltenberg.

If now held a referendum on Ukraine's accession to NATO, half of the respondents (51%) would vote for joining, 25% were against it.
