The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he had reached agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the need for strict implementation of the Minsk agreement on settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine.

In particular, the parties agreed to use various technological tools to monitor the performance of obligations under the cease-fire, reports Tsenzor.net with reference to RBC.

"We also agreed on the use of other equipment, including video cameras, radars, which can clearly identify those responsible for breaking the ceasefire. This is what we want and what we need," said Poroshenko.

He also stressed the need for practical steps for effective monitoring of the situation by the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe, including by increasing the number of unmanned aerial vehicles to be provided by Germany and France.

Also Poroshenko announced progress in the issue of the situation on the border. "First, in my opinion, what we should do in this matter, is to place the observers of the OSCE and start the work of several checkpoints on the border between Ukraine and Russia. I hope we will be able to do this," he said.

The President called the main problem of inadequate implementation of the agreements reached and offered to look at, "what are the results next week".

The meeting of Putin and Poroshenko was held in Milan, where the summit was held ACEM. Earlier, the heads of state met at the summit in the framework of the negotiations "channel four", with the participation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, as well as during the working Breakfast.
