Today Ukraine celebrates the 24th anniversary of independence. Ukraine declared its independence on 24 August 1991. The act of independence of Ukraine of 24 August 1991, approved December 1, 1991 by popular vote.

On the occasion of the 24th anniversary of independence was held in Kyiv on Independence March, which was attended by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

In his speech, the President noted that "Russian aggression has been the catalyst for our Association." "We finally formed as a single Ukrainian political nation," said Poroshenko.

The President also stressed that today we are stronger than yesterday. "It is impossible to enslave us or break. We're born free on their land. And to defend it we are ready to the end, whatever means", - said the President.
