The State Department of the United States is concerned about reports of escalation of the situation around Marinka Donetsk region and have direct responsibility for it on the Russian side.

"We are concerned by reports, including from the OSCE, the joint Russian-separatist forces night made a coordinated attack on the positions of Ukrainian forces near Donetsk, Sand and Marinka", - said the representative of foreign policy Department of the USA.

She stressed that "was used large-caliber rockets and other heavy weapons, which must be allocated in accordance with the Minsk plan, signed in February".

Harf said that the resumption of attacks, "the joint Russian-separatist forces" unacceptable and contrary to the Minsk agreements.

In this regard, the U.S. state Department spokesman stressed: "Russia is directly responsible for preventing such attacks, and the implementation of the ceasefire. Attempts to seize more Ukrainian territory will meet the price increase".

Answering the question about the willingness of the U.S. to impose new sanctions against Russia, Harf noticed that on this issue the United States "remain in close cooperation with the European partners".
