The president Petro Poroshenko claims that recently chances the direction to Ukraine to peacekeeping mission of the UN significantly increased.

He declared it during a joint press conference with the president of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski, the Censor.NET with reference to "The European truth". "If earlier the attitude towards idea of peacekeepers was very cool, today all understand that the question of peacekeepers is the most effective method of a de-escalation of the conflict. I emphasize - not freezings, and a de-escalation", - he declared.

Poroshenko emphasized that only the mechanism which provides the decision of the UN Security Council on the beginning of peacekeeping operation now is considered. For this purpose, as we know, it is necessary to receive consent of Russia which still vetoed all Ukrainian offers. "There are two stages. A stage first - preparation of the decision of the UN Security Council. Second (stage) is a preparation (prior to mission) and participation of peacekeepers in carrying out operation. If the first stage is a question of weeks, the second are months", - the president added.

He also reported that possibility of introduction to Donbass of the peacekeeping contingent will be discussed with the Russian Federation in the Norman format - with the participation of France and Germany. "Now the minister Klimkin is in Paris where prepares a meeting in the Norman format at which have to be the main subject a question of peacekeepers", - Poroshenko added.
