The president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the Decree on celebration of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky - the founder of the medieval European state of Rus'-Ukraine.

In the Decree it is told: "For the purpose of preservation and the statement of traditions of the Ukrainian statehood, a reminder on a role of historical heritage of Rus'-Ukraine in their formation, recognition of importance of adoption of Christianity for development of the Ukrainian society as integral part of European civilization, celebration of memory of Vladimir Veliky - the outstanding state and political figure, the prince Kiev, the founder of the medieval European state of Rus'-Ukraine, and in connection with the 1000 anniversary of its rest which is celebrated in 2015, I decide:

1. To the cabinet of Ukraine to develop with participation of National academy of Sciences of Ukraine, public organizations and to approve the plan of measures on perpetuation of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky, having provided, in particular:

carrying out scientific conferences, symposiums, round tables, seminars, other scientific and educational actions directed on studying of the state activity of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky, influence his politicians on political and economic development of Europe, in particular, of the countries of the Baltic and Black Sea region, events of the Ukrainian history of the corresponding period;

carrying out with participation of representatives of public authorities, local governments, religious organizations and the public of celebrations on celebration of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky;

stampings and introduction the address in in accordance with the established procedure coins, release in the address of the stamps and envelopes devoted to activity of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky, carrying out specialcancellation of a postage stamp.

2. Regional, Kiev city to public administrations:

to provide holding regional events for perpetuating of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky, promoting of his historical heritage;

to assist the religious organizations in their activities for perpetuation of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky.

3. To provide to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine carrying out by foreign diplomatic institutions Ukraine actions for perpetuating of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky, in particular, with participation of public organizations of foreign Ukrainians.

4. To provide to the state committee of television and broadcasting of Ukraine publicizing of actions for perpetuation of memory of the prince Kiev Vladimir Veliky".
