No football out of politics, says the Cup winners Cup and UEFA super Cup in 1975, Colonel Stefan Reshko
Ex-head of the control and disciplinary Committee of the football Federation of Ukraine, former player of the national team of the USSR and Dynamo Kiev Stefan Reshko in an interview with the Football 24 expressed his view about the relationship between sports and politics during the aggression of Russia in Ukraine, and also touched upon the issue of participation of Ukrainian teams in General training camp with the Russian clubs.
"Support Dynamo and Dnipro, who refused to sparring with the Russians. Is it possible to play against teams from the country, killing our people? Russia Hail kills civilians and our soldiers. And as you can at this time to spar with the Russians? This is treason, Ukraine. "Football is out of politics"? Yes there is no such. The most popular sport cannot be apolitical. How to stay away, if your country was attacked by the aggressor? I understand when players refuse to support MPs in the election. But we cannot be indifferent at the time, when your country is attacked by enemy soldiers. It's all because of lack of patriotism. But this comes from the leadership of the club, the players, just the hostages," he said.
Also the head of Department and associate Professor at the national Academy of internal Affairs of Ukraine severely commented on the application for participation "miners" in cooperation with the Russian clubs training camp, in particular stance on the issue of the President of FC Shakhtar Rinat Akhmetov.
"This once again suggests that Akhmetov - repatriot, to put it mildly. He shouts that helps, and actually participated in all these events, in the worst sense of the word. I simply words't find," says football and a police expert.
Recall, after football career in 1979 Stefan Reshko graduated from the Higher school of the Ministry of interior, worked at the Academy, he received the rank of Colonel of militia. Now holds the position of head of the Department of national Academy of internal Affairs of Ukraine.
