The President said that the Ukrainian side had regained control of the Peninsula in the Kherson region

Chongar Peninsula, which is located in Henichesk district, Kherson region, was entirely under the control of Ukraine. This was reported today by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on his Twitter page.

"Chongar fully under our control. Glory To Ukraine!", - wrote the head of state.

Recall that until today, the Peninsula was partly controlled by illegal armed groups and the Russian military.

Earlier, the Chairman of the State border service Viktor Nazarenko informed about the agreement with the Russian side about the withdrawal of troops temporarily occupied parts of the Kherson region: Peninsula Hell (Chaplinka district), Chongar (Henichesk district), as well as Small village on the Arabat spit.
