The leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev said that Putin has chosen a bad move, stating that the Crimea to Russia has sacred significance.

He said this in an interview with the Estonian Radio 4, commenting on Putin's statement, according to the Censor.NET with reference to the Ukrainian truth.

"The fact that there was christened Prince Vladimir, he was a Prince Vladimir of Kiev. If someone in our territory baptized or something else did, and on this basis... Then Moscow, too, for the Crimean Tatars very sacred place - Devlet Giray (Khan Devlet Giray, conducting raids on Russia - as amended), after he had captured Moscow, hung up his whip for the edification of others," said Dzhemilev.

"But we do not pretend to Moscow, as our sacred place. In short, Russia's policy there is a strong primitivism. But this is for domestic consumption abroad laugh at him", he added.
