A year later after the Russian annexation the Crimea still remains part of Ukraine.
About it the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote in the article "Crimea Still Ukraine" for The Wall Street Journal published on March 19 the current year the Censor.NET with reference to Interfax Ukraine.
"A year later the Crimea remains part of Ukraine, and it is our shared responsibility with the rest of the world to cancel injustice de facto and de jure - to make so that the aggressor left. Sooner or later the Crimea will return there to whom it belongs, and our shared responsibility to make it as soon as possible - of respect of the rights of our citizens, international law and for the sake of preservation of global safety", - the head of the Ukrainian state wrote.
P. Poroshenko reminded that exactly a year ago the Ukrainian Crimea was illegally annexed by the neighboring state - the Russian Federation. "I witnessed illegal and shameful occupation, and never I will forget and I won't justify it. When I visited the Crimean capital of Simferopol a year ago to help to agree about settlement, I saw many "little green men" who actually were well armed professional soldiers. And though they were in masks and disguised, in shape with the changed marking, it became clear that each team of occupation came from one source: from the Kremlin", - the Ukrainian president emphasized.
Also he mentioned aggression in the east of Ukraine as a result of which more than 6 thousand people were lost, and the region turned into a ruina. "Despite renewal of a truce which I signed in Minsk last month, periodically the violence proceeds", - P. Poroshenko emphasized.
According to the president of Ukraine, Russia the actions not only "encroached on international law, but also took away from citizens of Ukraine the right to live in own state". "Moscow quickly exported the power of a strong hand, finishes with dissent, mass media and access to information", - P. Poroshenko told, having mentioned also threat of deportation and violation of the rights of locals of the peninsula, in particular the Crimean Tatars.
The president reminded that on March 27, 2014 100 member states of the UN adopted the resolution in which maintained territorial integrity of Ukraine and recognized the Crimea as part of Ukraine. "We remember and we appreciate this manifestation of the international solidarity in an hour of need. And we believe that the Crimean people will find the native earth again", - he emphasized.
